Determining your Content Themes will Help With Consistency

Coming up with new content consistently can be a real challenge!

Often, I think, we fall into two categories… One: It can feel like you’re spinning your wheels, and have already said everything that needs to be said. Two: You begin to post about anything and everything to just have something/anything to post.

But there is a third option - to have endless possibilities of consistent content that promotes your brand in an almost effortless way.

I know, that might seem like a pie-in-the-sky idea. But it’s not. I swear!

The key to consistent posting is knowing and sticking to your content categories. Once you have identified your 5-7 categories, you’ve removed the guessing game from content creation. When it’s time to make your monthly posting calendar or just time to sit down and pen a post, you’re able to look at the categories and come up with something tailored to your audience and your business.

Let me give you an example. For my lifestyle account, ModlyChic, one of my categories is empowerment. These posts tend to look like a series of people I identify, name their struggle, and tell them they have the ability to power through. Something like… ‘To the gal struggling to wrap up everything at work as the year winds to a close, you go girl! Sending you loads of patience.’ These posts tend to perform well and give off the vibe and meaning I want to convey with my account.

So, when I think about crafting content for ModlyChic and find myself drawing a blank, I’ll check my list of categories and tap into one I haven’t used or explored in awhile.

With 7 categories specific to you and your business, you’re ensuring you easily have at least a week’s worth of posts, and that’s if you’re posting every day. For me 7 categories gets me through 2 weeks, since I tend to post every other day.

Great. But… How do you identify your categories? That’s a post for another time. OR you can join me on September 24th for the class on how to identify and craft content around your 7 categories.
