Save Time and Angst! Create ALL Your Posts for the Week at Once.
One of the most common pain points when it comes to posting on social media is the need to constantly create content. We’ve all been there. It is the day you planned to post, you open Instagram and then… stare at the screen, or maybe you scroll through your camera roll trying to find something that gives you some inspiration. I promise you - posting to social doesn’t have to be angst-ridden. You just need a system.
You might know I’m a huge fan of planning out your entire month of content in one afternoon. That helps you stay focused and see the big picture. It also helps alleviate the stress and overwhelm that can come from attempting that same process day after day.
Another way to help eliminate that stress is to create all your social media posts for that week at one time. For me, content creation is a Monday task. I look at the week ahead, I pull out my content calendar and then I get to creating.
Why is it helpful to create all your posts for the week at once?
Takes the guesswork out of the daily process. Once you’ve created your content for the week, you don’t need to think about it again. All you need to do is pull up the info on the day and post it!
Saves you time in the long run. If you actually measured the time it takes you to create all the content at once, or sporadically throughout the week, you’ll find that it actually is a time-saver to do it all at once. Why? Because your creative genius is already flowing after one post, so you don’t need to re-awaken it every time.
Allows for greater consistency. I’ll be totally honest. My plan is to post M, W, F to the Rosebud Social Instagram account. The only time that doesn’t happen is when I didn’t get a chance to plan the content out on Monday. If something happens and I allow my Monday to be derailed I can almost guarantee that at least one of the posts won’t happen that week.
Creates a consistent brand voice and message. When you are crafting content in batches, you are more likely to ensure that everything is a part of the bigger picture. When you are rushing to get something up, it often happens that that post is less in line with what you really want to say.
If content creation is a major pain point for you, consider making it a goal in 2021 to make all your content for the week in one go! I think you’ll be surprised at what a game changer that little change can be!
